AT&T will introduce a new fee for prepaid customers in June

If you are an AT&T customer using a prepaid plan, you need to know this – the carrier is introducing an “AT&T Administrative & Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee” to the tune of $2.63 per service payment.

This change will come into effect on June 22 of this year. You can follow the Source link below to see a detailed explanation of what this fee is supposed to cover.

AT&T’s postpaid accounts already had an Administrative & Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee, which is $3.99 per line per month, so the prepaid plans are cheaper. That postpaid fee was $3.49 per line until December of last year, by the way, so AT&T customers will be feeling the increased fees across the board.

The description for both fees reads the same: it’s meant to cover costs associated with connecting with other carriers, regulatory requirements, government fees and more.

Back in October (when the postpaid fee increase was announced), an AT&T spokesperson told The US Sun: “Like others in the industry, we regularly evaluate and adjust fees to help cover the costs associated with delivering and maintaining our wireless network. This adjustment allows us to continue investing in our network and technology in order to provide the high-quality service that our customers expect.”
