Tata Motors is set to give its top-selling Nexon subcompact SUV a full generational upgrade sometime in 2027. The all-new model is currently undergoing extensive testing and has been spotted multiple times, revealing a few key details. The 2027 Tata Nexon is expected to receive significant design changes, an upmarket interior and several feature enhancements, while retaining the existing engine options.

New Platform
Internally codenamed ‘Garud’, the new Tata Nexon will shift to the new ATLAS (adaptive tech-forward lifestyle architecture) platform, which also underpins the Curvv. This modular architecture supports multiple body styles, vehicle size, segments and powertrains. Tata has also revealed that ATLAS platform is compatible with future technologies, including cloud connectivity and an advanced electric architecture.
Design Highlights
Spy images suggest that the 2027 Tata Nexon will feature LED projector headlamps with a split setup, a revised grille with new air inlets, a tweaked bumper and sleek LED DRLs placed near the bonnet line at the front end. The front bumper appears to feature an integrated squarish radar sensor for Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).
Other key highlights will include newly-designed alloy wheels, pronounced roof rails, ORVM-mounted turn indicators, flared wheel arches, connected LED taillamps, revised rear bumper and a raked windshield.
Interior & Features
The interior will receive an upgrade with the new leatherette upholstery, trims and new cabin theme. On the feature front, the new Tata Nexon is likely to offer powered and ventilated front seats, an upgraded touchscreen infotainment system and all digital driver’s display, dual zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof. The safety package is expected to include new Level 2 ADAS features, a tyre pressure monitoring system, six airbags and electronic stability control.
Engine Options
Under the hood, the 2027 Tata Nexon is likely to retain the existing 1.2-litre turbo petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre turbo petrol + CNG powertrain options. Transmission choices will include the same 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed DCT.
