If you’re planning to bring home an all-new SUV this Diwali, there are top three upcoming models worth waiting for. India’s largest passenger carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch a new midsize SUV (referred to as the Maruti Escudo) on September 3, 2025. The new-gen Hyundai Venue is slated to hit showrooms on 24th October, while Tata Sierra EV will also arrive around the same time. Here’s a quick look at the key details of these upcoming SUVs.

Maruti Escudo

The upcoming Maruti SUV will be sold exclusively through Arena dealership, aimed at models such as Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. According to leaked information, the Escudo will be the first Maruti Suzuki to offer Level-2 ADAS suite and Dolby Atoms technology. It will be based on the Grand Vitara, sharing its powertrains (petrol, hybrid and CNG). However, it will be offered with  4WD and an underbody CNG kit, first for any Maruti Suzuki in India.

Next-Gen Hyundai Venue

The third-generation Hyundai Venue will derive several design elements from the Creta and Alcazar. The compact SUV is expected to feature a larger touchscreen infotainment system, redesigned dashboard and centre console with new switchgear. Hyundai might also equip the new Venue with ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera and an upgraded ADAS suite. Under the hood, the 2025 Hyundai Venue will continue to feature the 83bhp, 1.2L NA petrol, 120bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol and 100bhp, 1.5L diesel engines.

Tata Sierra EV

The all-new Tata Sierra EV is slated to arrive during 2025 Diwali season, with its ICE version is likely to go on sale in early 2026. While the company hasn’t revealed the official powertrain specifications yet, the electric Sierra is expected to share the 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs with the Harrier EV. The smaller battery pack offers a claimed range of 627km, while the larger battery version with dual motor delivers a MIDC range of 622km.
