DJI’s long-awaited response to Antigravity’s A1 is finally here. Meet the DJI Avata 360. As the name implies, it lets you film 360-degree video, in 8K60fps HDR no less, thanks to DJI’s flagship 1-inch type sensors with 2.4 μm pixels and high dynamic range.
The Avata 360 comes with different lenses that you can use, of which one is the 360-degree lens with 1-inch equivalent sensors. This can also take 120MP photos. Both videos and photos can be exported directly or reframed in post-production.

With the Single Lens mode you can use the classic Avata-style filming in 4K60fps. DJI’s O4+ video transmission system delivers 1080p60fps at up to 20km.
The Avata 360 has a flight time of up to 23 minutes, and comes with nightscape omnidirectional obstacle sensing and integrated propeller guards. The camera lens can easily be replaced with the Avata 360 replacement lens kit which also comes with the required tools for the replacement.

The drone has 42GB internal storage which can hold 30 minutes of 8K 360-degree video. Using Wi-Fi 6, 1GB of footage can be transferred to the DJI Fly app in 10 seconds at up to 100MB/s. The Avata 360 supports infinite rotation and tilt for dynamic camera moves, one-tap in-app editing, intelligent tracking, FPV mode, and it can also automatically select the optimal tracking mode.
It can be flown with DJI remote controllers like the RC2, RC-N2, and RC-N3. With the DJI RC Motion 3, the Avata 360 can perform aerial acrobatics too.
The drone is now up for pre-order from DJI, priced at £409 for the drone only, £639 / €719 bundled with the DJI RC2, £829 / €939 in a Fly More combo with the RC2, and £829 / €939 for the Motion Fly More combo with the DJI Goggles N3. Shipping is set to start next month.
