The first sketches of the upcoming Hyundai Bayon midsize SUV have been revealed ahead of its launch in October, 2026. However, the exact launch date is yet to be announced. The carmaker says that the Bayon is a global product that “reimagines mobility through a stronger SUV identity, bold design character and every urban versatility.”

Modern Styling
The sketches preview Hyundai’s new Art of Steel design language, along with the new H-Edge lighting signature, a sculpted hood, pronounced fenders and robust body elements. Spy images reveal that the new Hyundai SUV will feature an upright stance, functional roof rails, squared-off wheel arches, alloy wheels, LED headlamps in trapezoidal housing, an upright rear windscreen and a sporty rear bumper with integrated parking sensors.
Premium Interior & Features
The interior sketches are said to reveal Hyundai’s vision of intelligent mobility, combining modern design, advanced technology and connected convenience. The feature list is expected to include a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, leatherette upholstery, rear parking camera, rear parking sensors, front and rear parking sensors, multiple airbags and more.
Petrol & CNG Options
According to reports, the upcoming Hyundai Bayon is expected to be offered with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine borrowed from the Creta. The SUV will also be available with a CNG powertrain option, featuring an underbody CNG tank. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
Expected Pricing & Competition
In terms of pricing and positioning, the Hyundai Bayon will sit between the Venue and Creta, and is expected to be priced from Rs 10 lakh onwards (ex-showroom). It will come as an affordable alternative to the Hyundai Creta, targeting a wider audience. When launched, the new Hyundai SUV will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
