Mere hours ago a rumor from China claimed the upcoming Redmi K100 Pro Max would start at around CNY 5,000 (approximately $725 at the current exchange rate), and now the same source brings us the first spec details for the device.
Of course, do take these with a pinch of salt since they aren’t confirmed in any way, and the device is still many months away from actually launching. The Redmi K100 Pro Max is said to employ a new 200MP main camera with a 1/1.28″ type sensor, as well as a 50MP periscope telephoto camera that will be upgraded from its predecessor.

It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC, though it’s still unclear which one – the company has been rumored to launch two top dogs this year, the ‘vanilla’ 8 Elite Gen 6, and an extreme version referred to in rumors as the 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. Both of these should be made on a 2nm process.
For reference, note that the Redmi K90 Pro Max has three 50MP cameras on the rear, and its main one uses a 1/1.31″ type sensor. So the new 200MP shooter would have a marginally bigger sensor.
