In the next 12 days, two new SUVs are set to launch, targeting popular segments dominated by the Hyundai Creta and the Toyota Fortuner. The new Volkswagen Taigun facelift will go on sale with its official price announcement on April 9, while the MG Majestor premium is scheduled to hit the roads on April 20, 2026. Ahead of their market debut, here’s a quick look at the SUVs’ key details and engine specifications.

New Volkswagen Taigun
Production of the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun has already commenced at the company’s Chakan plant in Pune. Official images reveal the design changes made to the SUV, with several styling cues inspired by the VW Tayron. Upfront, the SUV features a new grille, redesigned headlamps with a connected LED element and a revised bumper. Other highlights include new dual-tone alloys, silver roof rails and chrome door handles.
Inside the cabin, the updated Taigun might get massaging rear seats along with the updated infotainment and instrument cluster. The existing 1.0L and 1.5L turbo petrol engines will be retained from the pre-facelift. However, the 1.0L petrol unit could get a new 8-speed automatic gearbox.
MG Majestor
Bookings for the MG Majestor are already underway. The SUV derives power from a 2.0L twin-turbo petrol engine, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This setup delivers a maximum power of 215bhp and 478Nm of torque. It comes with both 4X2 and 4X4 drivetrain options. The Majestor also boasts a water wading capacity of 810mm, along with three differential locks and 10 selectable off-road modes.
The MG Majestor looks rugged and commands a strong road presence. Buyers will have the option of choosing between 6 and 7-seats configurations. The SUV comes with a host of features including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless phone connectivity, a digital driver’s display, a 12-speaker JBL audio system, dual wireless chargers, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, multiple airbags and more.
