There has been a slow trickle of leaks for the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. Now, WinFuture has fully opened the tap and… not much came out. The Tab S12 slates will change a few things from their predecessors, but the upgrades are pretty sparse.
Both tablets will be powered by the Dimensity 9500, which replaces a Dimensity 9400+ on the Tab S11 Ultra and a Dimensity 9300+ on the Tab S10+. Why no “plus” chipset this year? Well, MediaTek never released a 9500+ – there is a Dimensity 9600M, but that doesn’t change enough to get a “plus” tag. There’s also the Dimensity 9600 Pro, but that was only just announced. So, Dimensity 9500 it is.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra
As you may have noticed, the Galaxy Tab S12+ only has one camera on its back – it’s a 13MP wide module. The Tab S10+ did have a dual-camera setup with an 8MP ultra-wide, but Samsung dropped it for some reason.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra keeps both the 12MP wide and the 8MP ultra-wide modules, plus there is a 12MP selfie. The 14.6” display of the Ultra has a notch to accommodate the selfie camera, while the 12.4” display of the “plus” slate doesn’t need a notch (it has thicker bezels instead).
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+
The Tab S12 Ultra will measure 5.1mm thick (same as before) and will have the same 11,600mAh battery with support for 45W charging. The Tab S12+, however, is getting a new 10,600mAh battery (a minor upgrade from the 10,090mAh of the Tab S10+) with the same 45W charging. The new “plus” slate will be 0.3mm thinner than its predecessor and will measure 5.3mm.
Roland Quandt posted EPREL labels for the two tablets. They show that the batteries are rated for 1,200 charge cycles (no change for the Ultra, but the old “plus” had a 2,000 cycle battery). Also, battery life for the new Ultra has decreased to 88:54h, compared to 94:51h for the 2025 Ultra. As for the “plus” models, the Tab S12+ will last 80:34h, which is an increase from the 73:44h for the Tab S10+. We doubt the 510mAh extra in the battery made that much of a difference, so it’s probably thanks to the more efficient chipset (and possibly screen too).

The battery life ratings for the Wi-Fi and 5G versions of the two tablets are the same. Like before, the slates have a low E rating for drop resistance, an average C rating for repairability and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.
A couple of weeks ago, WinFuture also shared the European prices for the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the Tab S12+. Doubling the storage costs €200, while getting a 5G modem is €150 more. For comparison, a Tab S11 Wi-Fi 12/256GB slate started at €1,340 last year, the 5G version with the same storage was €1,490. In other words, the S12 generation Ultra will be €200 more than its predecessor from last year. There was no Tab S11+ last year, so there is no direct comparison.

By the way, we’ve also seen leaks for the US prices and the Indian prices – those leaks showed price hikes of varying degrees. While not officially confirmed, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Tab S12 series on October 7.
