ITANAGAR: A 17-year-old boy was detained on Monday for holding up a banner saying “Stop hunger strike, give Ladakh their rights” when PM Modi was addressing a gathering in Itanagar. Security personnel swiftly escorted the protester out, and the programme continued without any interruption. State BJP spokesperson Mutchu Mithi dismissed the protest as “a mere stunt”, saying it had no connection to Arunachal and that the public response to the PM’s visit was “overwhelmingly positive”.
