Earlier today, Google announced the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, Pixel 11 Pro Fold, Pixel Watch 5, and Pixel Tag. The company hasn’t also unveiled a new pair of Pixel Buds, but it has added a new color for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 – Olive. This is now available to order from the Google Store, and like all the other colors, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 can currently be had for $189, down from the RRP of $229. The price cut ends on August 23.
Aside from the new hue, the Olive Pixel Buds Pro 2 are identical to all the other Pixel Buds Pro 2. However, Google is introducing new software features for them. The headliner is Dynamic ANC. With this, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 will “adjust to compensate when subtle shifts in the seal happen, so you still get powerful noise cancellation”, the company says.
There’s also an upgrade for Live Translate – you can now tap the buds to trigger listening mode, which supports translating “over 70 languages” in real time without touching your phone. You can also speak to someone in your language and your Pixel phone will play the translation to the other person in theirs.
You can adjust the Buds’ settings with Gemini, by just saying “Hey Google, turn up the bass” or something like that. And finally, there’s Pixel Watch sleep sync. When your Pixel Watch detects that you fell asleep, it will pause music playback, disable touch, and silence notifications in your Pixel Buds Pro 2, so you can sleep undisturbed.
