In just a few days, on August 12, Google will unveil the Pixel 11 family and the Pixel Watch 5. Ahead of that, the company has today published a new video teaser for the watch on its YouTube channel.
It’s short and to the point, as you can see. And the point? Well, the point is to poke fun at the Samsung Galaxy Watches and the Apple Watches of the world with their weird shapes that aren’t really very watch-like.
The Pixel Watch 5, on the other hand? This one “has the decency to look like a watch”. And it does that while still tracking your health, sleep, and fitness. So the obvious implication here is that you lose none of the features of a smartwatch, while getting a smartwatch that looks like a normal watch.
Of course, the Pixel Watch 5 has nowhere near the runtime of a normal watch (or even some Chinese competitors, or Samsung and Apple’s Ultra models), but Google isn’t talking about that in its teasers, is it?
