Here’s Motorola’s wide foldable that’s arriving ‘in the coming months’

Samsung unveiled its first wide foldable smartphone in July, called the Galaxy Z Fold8. In August, Huawei introduced the Pura X View. On September 7, Xiaomi will unveil its wide foldable, called Xiaomi 18 Fold. A report by Android Headlines claims Motorola will also launch a wide foldable this year.

The publication didn’t reveal the name of Motorola’s wide foldable, but it shared a few images showing the smartphone’s design sketches.

There are three images showing two different designs of Motorola’s wide foldable. Both feature a horizontally aligned camera island on the back panel with three cutouts, but one has a cutout outside the camera island while the other keeps all three cutouts inside. It’s also unclear whether all three cutouts are for cameras, or one is for the flash or other sensors.

Furthermore, the sketches suggest the Motorola wide foldable will have a bezel-less design with an “easy-open profile,” an “ultra-slim housing,” and a “creaseless display.” The back panel will be covered in 3D glass, and the camera island will have “metal decoration.”

You can also see the Motorola branding on the hinge, with the folding display having a selfie camera in the top-right corner and the outer display having a selfie camera inside a centered punch-hole.

The publication’s source says Motorola’s wide foldable will arrive “in the coming months” without getting specific, but expect more details as we get closer to launch.
