Based On Dedicated Electric Motorcycle Platform

While the two-wheeler maker hasn’t yet revealed the specific details, the upcoming Hero electric motorcycles will be based on two dedicated platform – UBEX and VXZ. Both platforms were showcased at EICMA 2025, with the UBEX previewing a naked e-bike and the VXZ showcasing a high-performance e-bike. The latter was developed in collaboration with Zero Motorcycles.

The official images of the VXZ reveal a V-shaped DRL (daytime running light), five-spoke alloy wheels and an Xtreme 250R-inspired tail section. The electric bike concept also features a radial disc brake at the front along with USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The teaser confirmed that the bike will feature a mid-mounted motor with belt-drive, while the battery pack will be positioned in place of the engine. The UBEX electric bike features a tall-seat.

Official Statement

Talking about the new Hero electric motorcycle platform, Nandakumar said, “The motorcycle platform now caters to the needs of a motorcycle consumer, and therefore these are new platforms that we are developing with learnings from the scooter platform, but with technology that is suited to what a motorcycle consumer is actually looking for in terms of performance, rideability, gradeability, and range”.
