Honda’s 1st Hybrid SUV For India Coming Tomorrow


Honda is all set to introduce its first strong hybrid SUV in India tomorrow (May 22, 2026). Called the Honda ZR-V, the SUV will be brought through the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route and is estimated to be priced between Rs 40 lakh – Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The India-bound model is likely to look similar to the globally sold ZR-V, while sharing platform, design elements, features and powertrain. When launched, this new Honda 5-seater SUV will take on the Skoda Kodiaq Lounge and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Globally, the Honda ZR-V is offered with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder Atkinson petrol hybrid engine, producing a combined power of 180bhp and 315Nm of torque. It comes with both FWD (front-wheel drive) and AWD (all-wheel drive) options. The SUV comes with an eCVT single-speed transmission. The hybrid powertrain has a fuel consumption of 5.7 to 5.8-litre/100km (approx. 17-18kmpl). The SUV does 0 to 100kmph in 7.8-8 seconds.

Global Styling

The official teaser shows the SUV’s silhouette which appears similar to the global-spec ZR-V. It features sharply designed LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, a Honda logo at the centre on the grille and a sculpted bonnet. Similar to the global-spec model, the SUV might offer flush-type roof rails, 18-inch alloy wheels, a wide horizontal LED taillamps and dual exhaust finishers.

Panoramic Sunroof & More

The Honda ZR-V is likely to offer a dual-tone cabin theme with a layered dashboard design, a 10.2-inch digital driver’s display and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other expected features include dual-zone climate control, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, six airbags, a powered tailgate, Level 2 ADAS and more.

New 2026 Honda City Facelift Launching Tomorrow

Honda Cars India will also launch the City facelift alongside the ZR-V hybrid SUV. The sedan is expected to get redesigned headlamps, revised bumpers, grille with honeycomb pattern and newly-designed alloy wheels.

Inside, the new City might feature a larger touchscreen, buttons for front seat ventilation, Type-C ports and a 360-degree camera. Mechanically, the new Honda City is likely to remain unchanged.
