Huawei Band 11 series debuts, FreeBuds Pro 5 go global

Alongside the brand-new Watch GT Runner 2, Huawei unveiled its Band 11 series and also expanded the availability of its FreeBuds Pro 5 flagship wireless earbuds.

Band 11 and Band 11 Pro

The Band 11 series comes in two flavors this year. Both versions feature 1.62-inch AMOLED displays with 286 × 482px resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and Always on Display (AOD) functionality. The one on the Band 11 Pro gets a slight curvature and a more rugged-looking casing. It’s also rated at 2,000 nits peak local brightness, while the Band 11 maxes out at 1,500 nits.

Both versions of the Band 11 receive aluminium alloy casings and are 5 ATM waterproof, so you can take them for a swim. Band 11 weighs just 17 grams while its Pro sibling comes in at 18 grams without the strap.

They pair over Bluetooth 6.0 and come with built-in speakers for hands-free calls. They promise up to 14 days of battery life with light usage or 8 days with normal use. The Pro model gets on-device GNSS positioning so you can track your runs.

Speaking of runs, both Band 11 members also track 100+ sports modes as well as vitals like heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep and stress.

The Band 11 series comes in Beige, Green, Purple, White and Black colors and retails for €45/£50.

Huawei Band 11 and Band 11 Pro color options

Band 11 Pro comes in Green, Blue, and Black colors and is priced at €60/£70. Both wearables will be available from March 6.

FreeBuds Pro 5

FreeBuds Pro 5 are making their international rollout following their announcement in China back in November. They feature a dual driver setup with an 11 mm dynamic driver paired to a micro-planar tweeter. You also get Huawei’s custom Kirin A3 chip and updated adaptive noise cancelling (ANC).

They pair over Bluetooth 6.0 and support AAC, SBC, LDAC, and L2HC audio codecs with up to 2.3Mbps transmission to compatible Huawei devices. You also get dual device pairing and touch controls.

The buds are IP57 rated, while their case features an IP54 rating. Battery life is rated at 8 hours of usage from the buds with ANC disabled, or up to 33 hours with the case.
