This is the Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro in Pine Green, and we’re taking a closer look at it ahead of our full review.
Let’s start with the unboxing experience. Huawei is still using its proprietary magnetic charging puck, which is wired to a USB-A cable. That’s the only accessory you get in the package. We were hoping for a detachable USB-C connector by now, but there’s always next year.
The overall design of the GT 7 Pro is quite similar to the GT 6 Pro, though there are some subtle changes. The first one is the new screen bezel, which is color-matched to the watch strap.
Speaking of the strap, it brings a new tuck-under approach, which is actually quite useful. It stays in place and doesn’t wiggle around when you’re out and about.
The chassis is made from titanium alloy, while the back, where we have the sensors, features a nanocrystalline ceramic rear panel. Huawei has always delivered top-notch build quality on its watches, and the GT 7 Pro is no exception.
Like its predecessor, the Watch GT 7 Pro is offered in a single 46mm size with the same 1.47-inch AMOLED display with 3,000 nits peak brightness, just like the GT 6 Pro. We did a quick test under the crisp sunny skies and found outdoor legibility great, even at 50% brightness.
This is a big watch, coming in at just over 55 grams and 11mm in thickness, so it will not suit smaller wrists. On the software side, we have Huawei’s Harmony OS 6.1, which looks and feels like previous versions.
Battery life should be similar to last year’s model, with Huawei claiming up to 12 days of regular use or 21 days in low power mode. As usual, we’ll be testing these claims in our review, so stay tuned.
