Hybrid Power, ADAS, & Big Cabin

Renault has recently announced four new mass-market products for the Indian market, slated to arrive by 2030. The new-generation Duster is set to go on sale on March 17, while its strong hybrid version will arrive by October, 2026. The French carmaker will further expand its product portfolio with the Duster 7-seater and mini-Duster (Bridger) in 2027. The Renault Duster 7-seater is currently in its initial testing phase, and has been caught on camera multiple times.

What have we noticed?

Renault Duster 7-Seater SUV spied

Recently, a heavily camouflaged test mule of the 7-seater Duster was spotted in Chennai, revealing its rear three-quarter and front fascia. The SUV will feature sleek headlamps, large air dam, skid plate and LED turn indicators as we have seen in the Renault Boreal (unveiled last year).

The prototype appears to be a top-end trim, featuring 19-inch wheels. At the back, it sports taillamps, massive bumper and an integrated rear spoiler similar to the Boreal. The 7-seater Renault Duster is expected to be as large as the Dacia Bigster, which measures 4,570 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width and 1,710 mm in height.

Features & Interior

Interior details are not available at the moment. However, the upcoming Renault Duster 7-seater is likely to offer all goodies available on its 5-seater counterpart. This means the feature list could include a 10.1-inch infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, Arkamys premium audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS and more.

Expected Powertrains

The powertrain options are expected to be borrowed from the 5-seater Duster, which will be offered with a 1.3L turbo petrol (163 bhp/280 Nm), a 1.0L turbo petrol (100 bhp/160 Nm) and 1.8L petrol-hybrid (160 bhp/172 Nm).

Multiple Rival SUVs

The Renault Duster 7-seater SUV will compete against the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari and MG Hector. Upcoming 7-seater SUVs including the Hyundai Ni1i (codename), Kia Sorento, Maruti Grand Vitara three-row and Toyota Hyryder three-row versions, will also challenge it.
