Hyundai India has planned 7-8 new models across ICE (internal combustion engine), hybrid and electric segments, scheduled to arrive by 2030. The upcoming range will include entry-level hatchbacks, subcompact and compact SUVs, premium three-row SUVs and multiple facelifts. In 2026, the South Korean automaker will introduce the Verna and Exter facelifts along with a sub-4 metre SUV based on the Hyundai Bayon. This means Hyundai will offer two new subcompact models, challenging the Tata Punch and Maruti Fronx, respectively.
Hyundai Exter Facelift

The updated Hyundai Exter is expected to receive subtle cosmetic changes including a redesigned grille, tweaked bumpers and newly-designed alloy wheels. Spy images suggest that the compact crossover will retain its projector headlamps and the H-shaped signature for the DRLs and taillamps.
Interior details are still under the wraps. However, the new 2026 Hyundai Exter facelift is expected to be the first model to feature the brand’s next-generation infotainment system. It will feature a dual screen setup including a 12.9-inch touchscreen and a 9.9-inch digital driver’s display. A few new features could also be added to the package.
Under the hood, the new Exter is likely to retain the existing 83bhp, 1.2L petrol engine with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The CNG variant with manual transmission will continue to be on offer.
Hyundai Bayon

Codenamed Bc4i, the upcoming Hyundai subcompact SUV will be based on the globally available Bayon compact crossover, which measures 4,180 mm in length. Aiming to avail tax benefits, the carmaker will trim down its overall length. Interestingly, the Hyundai Bayon will feature the brand’s new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which is compatible with hybrid technology. The subcompact SUV could also borrow the 1.0L turbo petrol engine from the Venue. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
The Bayon is expected to share design elements with the Venue including the split LED headlamps and DRL signatures. However, it will feature newly-designed alloy wheels, pronounced wheel arches with massive cladding and differently designed LED taillamps.
