Guwahati: To strengthen global research and innovation in AI and healthcare, the Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati (IIT-G) signed an MoU with the Coventry University Group (CUG), UK.The agreement is intended to establish a strategic partnership that expands research collaboration, supports academic mobility, and enables joint degree initiatives, IIT-G said in a release.The partnership represents an important step in Indo-UK academic engagement, placing both institutions strongly within the global shift towards technology-driven healthcare. The MoU was formalised recently during a visit to IIT-G by CUG’s senior research leadership, led by deputy vice-chancellor (research) Prof. Richard Dashwood.The collaboration is structured around key pillars — academic and research mobility, including short-term faculty and student exchanges; joint doctoral programmes, featuring a dual-award PhD under a joint supervision framework; and AI for One Health, aligned with India’s National AI Mission.
