Apple is rumored to be launching the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e next spring, and today a new report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed some intriguing details about them. Let’s start with the oddest bit of information Kuo has shared today: both the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are allegedly going to ship with 9GB of RAM.
That’s not a typo. They will apparently be using six 1.5GB dies, compared to the iPhone 17’s four 2GB dies. That’s a weird configuration but hey, it’s a RAM increase compared to the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e, even though it’s not a big one. And in case you were wondering – the extra GB of RAM is supposed to make Apple Intelligence run more smoothly.

Speaking of RAM, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra are all getting 12GB (eight 1.5GB dies). The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are said to be powered by the A20 chip, rather unsurprisingly. The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra will be powered by the A20 Pro.
