iQOO 15R arrives with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, a 144Hz screen, and a 7,600 mAh battery


iQOO today unveiled the iQOO 15R as the first ‘R’ model in its number lineup in India. The iQOO 15R is aimed at young professionals looking for a smartphone that’s compact but also packs a powerful chipset and a big battery under the hood.

iQOO is delivering on that by offering the iQOO 15R with a 6.59″ AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, and a 7,600 mAh battery.

The display, protected by Schott Xensation Alpha glass, has a 144Hz refresh rate, a 2,750×1,260-pixel resolution, and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The 15R boots Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box, and iQOO has promised up to four years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the smartphone.

The iQOO 15R’s 7,600 mAh battery supports 100W wired charging, and it’s advertised to charge from 1% to 50% in 33 minutes and to 100% in 63 minutes with the bundled 100W power adapter. The smartphone also supports bypass charging and reverse wired charging.

The iQOO 15R features three cameras – a 50MP primary (Sony LYT-700V), an 8MP ultrawide, and a 32MP selfie.

Other features of the iQOO 15R include the Q2 Supercomputing Chip, a 6.5K IceCore VC Cooling System, support for 144 FPS gaming in BGMI through frame interpolation technology, a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and NFC. The smartphone also comes with stereo speakers, an IR blaster, and IP68 and IP69 ratings.

The iQOO 15R is offered in Dark Knight and Triumph Silver colors. The Dark Knight model is 7.90mm thick, weighs 202 g, and features a fiber glass back. The Triumph Silver model, on the other hand, is 8.10mm thick, weighs 206 g, and features a glass back.

iQOO 15R’s color options

The iQOO 15R comes in three memory configurations – 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB, priced at INR44,999 ($495/€420), INR47,999 ($530/€450), and INR52,999 ($580/€495), respectively. Customers purchasing the phone with an HDFC Bank or Axis Bank credit or debit card will receive a discount of INR4,000 ($45/€40).

The iQOO 15R will go on sale in India starting March 3 through iQOO’s official website, Amazon.in, vivo exclusive stores, Reliance Digital, and other offline retailers.

The iQOO 15R is also up for pre-order through the same sales channels in India, and those who pre-order will receive a pair of vivo/iQOO TWS earphones worth INR1,899 ($20/€18) for free. Sales for pre-ordering customers will begin on March 2 at 10 AM IST.
