Just 8 days into the new year, the automobile industry has already witnessed some important product launches including the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV and the new-generation Kia Seltos. The rest of the month promises to be ever more action-packed with multiple new SUVs, EVs and facelifts scheduled to make their official debut or go on sale. Tata Punch Facelift

Tata Motors has confirmed that the updated Punch lineup will be available in six trims – Smart (new), Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished+. Features such as LED fog lamps with cornering function, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, auto dimming IRVM, wireless phone charge and a connected car suite are reserved for the top trim. The new 2026 Tata Punch facelift will also get a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine from the Nexon, alongside the existing naturally aspirated petrol engine.
Toyota Urban Cruiser EV
Toyota will introduce its electric car in India, the Urban Cruiser EV, on 19th January, 2026. Based on the e Vitara, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will share its platform, powertrain, components and features with its donor model. This means, it will be offered with the 49kWh and 61kWh battery pack options, and deliver a range of over 500km per charge.
Nissan Gravite
Nissan Gravite is set to make its official debut on 21st January, 2026. While its exact launch date is yet to be announced, the subcompact MPV is expected to go on sale in March 2026. Based on the Renault Triber, the Gravite underpins CMF-A platform and shares its powertrain. Under the hood, the MPV will feature the 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing power worth 72bhp and 96Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include both manual and AMT.
New Renault Duster
The third-generation Renault Duster will make its India debut on 26th January. It’s one of the much-awaited upcoming new SUVs of this year. For the India-spec model, Renault might use the 1.3L turbo and 1.2L petrol engines options. The higher trim will be offered exclusively with a 4X4 drivetrain system. The new 2026 Renault Duster will feature a more mature and modern design language along with a significantly more premium interior than its predecessor.
Maruti e Vitara
The Maruti e Vitara will hit showrooms in towards the end of January; although, its official launch date is yet to be announced. The EV will come with two battery pack options – 49kWh and 61kW – paired with a front-axle mounted electric motor. It will offer a claimed ARAI range of up to 523km on a full charge. The e Vitara lineup will be available in three trims – Delta, Zeta and Alpha.
Skoda Kushaq/Slavia Facelift
Skoda Auto India is set to update the popular Kushaq midsize SUV and Slavia midsize sedan in January, 2026. Both models will receive Level 2 ADAS (autonomous driving assistance system) along with subtle design changes and other feature upgrades. The 2026 Skoda Kushaq will also be offered with a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera. No changes are expected to be made to the powertrain options.
