NAMAKKAL: K Ponnusamy, the DMK MLA from the Senthamangalam constituency in Namakkal district, died on Thursday after suffering a heart attack. He was 74. Ponnusamy was taken to a private hospital in Namakkal after complaining of sudden chest pain. He did not respond to treatment and passed away. He had served as an MLA from 2006 to 2011 and again from 2021. Rajya Sabha member KRN Rajesh Kumar, Namakkal MLA P Ramalingam, Mayor D Kalanithi, Collector Durga Moorthi, and numerous party members paid their respects to him.
