Kia India has announced a significant milestone for its popular subcompact SUV, the Kia Sonet, which has crossed 5 lakh vehicle unit sales in the Indian market. The subcompact SUV accounts for nearly 35% of domestic volumes, further expanding the brand’s reach across the country. Its success also extends globally, with over 100,000 units exported to nearly 70 markets, including the MEA, Central and South America, Mexico and the APAC region.
Currently, the Kia Sonet lineup is available in the price range of Rs 7.30 lakh – 14 lakh (ex-showroom). In the highly competitive subcompact SUV segment, it takes on the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO and other models.

2026 Kia Sonet Engine Options
The Kia Sonet lineup comes with three engine options – an 83hp, 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol, a 120hp, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol and a 116hp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel. The 1.2L NA petrol engine comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the turbo-petrol motor can be had with either a 6-speed iMT gearbox and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The diesel engine is offered with three transmission options – a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
