Following the launch of the Kia Syros EV, the South Korean automaker is all geared up to introduce the Sorento three-row hybrid SUV in India as its flagship offering. Official bookings for the SUV are already underway nationwide ahead of its launch on September 4, 2026.
Expected Price & Competition
While its prices and full specifications will be revealed in the coming weeks, the Kia Sorento is expected to be priced between Rs 35 lakh – Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom) and compete against the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, Jeep Meridian, MG Majestor and Toyota Fortuner.

Diesel & Hybrid Powertrains
The Kia Sorento will be offered with both strong hybrid and diesel powertrain options. Similar to the global-spec version, the India-bound model is likely to be powered by a 1.6L, four-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrain, delivering power worth 238bhp and 380Nm of torque.
The diesel version is expected to feature a 2.2L engine, pushing out a peak power of 202bhp and 441Nm of torque. The SUV lineup will be available with both manual and automatic gearbox options. However, in India, the Sorento could be offered only with a FWD (front-wheel drive) system.
Seating Layouts
Measuring 4,815mm in length, the India-spec Kia Sorento will look exactly similar to its global counterpart and will come in both 6-seats and 7-seats configurations. The 7-seater version features a 60:40 split-folding three-seat bench in the middle row and 50:50 split-folding seats in the third row. Access to the third row is made easier with a one-touch slide-and-fold function. The 6-seater layout is exclusively offered in higher hybrid and PHEV variants in global markets, featuring captain’s chairs in the second row.
Premium Features
The Kia Sorento will be packed with several premium features including a dual 12.3-inch display screen setup, a central console with a touch-capacitive panel, a four-spoke steering wheel, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, a panoramic sunroof, a powered driver’s seat, an electronic parking brake, a HUD (head-up display), dual zone climate control and more.
