We’ve been seeing conflicting reports about the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 series, which has been rumored to shrink in size. We now have images of an alleged iPhone 18 Pro screen protector, which shows the slimmed-down Dynamic Island.

The pill-shaped cutout housing the TrueDepth camera and Face ID sensors appears slimmer, and according to the post on Weibo, it measures 13.49mm compared to the 17 Pro’s 20.76mm wide cutout.
Outside of the slimmer cutout, the iPhone 18 Pro appears to have identically sized display bezels, which was tipped last week by Ice Universe. That same report suggests that the entire iPhone 18 series, including the vanilla and Air 2 models, will feature the redesigned, smaller Dynamic Island cutout.

According to speculation, Apple will integrate some of the Face ID components, like the flood illuminator under the display panel, which would allow for the updated, smaller footprint.
