The fifth-generation Mitsubishi Pajero has finally made its global debut through official images. The off-road SUV makes a grand comeback after a five years hiatus. The company plans to launch the 2027 Mitsubishi Pajero in approximately 100 countries worldwide, with Thailand being the first market. It will be introduced in Japan and Australia by the end of March 2027. As of now, there is official word on its arrival in India.
2027 Mitsubishi Pajero Engine & Performance
Built on the ladder-frame chassis, the new Pajero features a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, producing a claimed power of 204bhp and a maximum torque of 480Nm. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV offers multiple drive modes including Normal, Eco, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand and Rock. It comes with a 4WD (four-wheel drive) system with a 2WD mode, locking center differential and low-range gearing.

2027 Mitsubishi Pajero Off-Roading Features
The biggest USP of the Pajero has always been its off-road capabilities, and the new-generation model takes this further with several upgrades. The SUV features a high-mounted double-wishbone front suspension and a new five-link rigid rear axle. The new Pajero also comes equipped with Mitsubishi’s Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) system, enhancing its overall performance.
The new Mitsubishi Pajero offers a ground clearance of 230mm along with approach, breakover and departure angles of 30.4 degrees, 22.6 degrees, and 25.8 degrees, respectively. Features such as 52:48 front-to-rear weight distribution and long-travel suspension further enhance its off-road capabilities.

The new Pajero features a soft padded dashboard with an integrated dual 14.3-inch screens. Other key features include an acoustic windshield, double-glazed windows for all doors, a 12-speaker Yamaha sound system, a cooled storage underneath the armrest, heated second-row seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, manual rear shades, multiple physical controls, USB ports across all three rows and more.
2027 Mitsubishi Pajero Design Highlights
Visually, the new Mitsubishi Pajero appears more mature and evolved than its predecessor. Upfront, the SUV features projector LED headlamps, a large grille with a honeycomb-mesh pattern for the air inlets, connected LED light bars with segmented ends, sporty bumper, front fender in black garnish with ‘Pajero’ embossing and grey skid plates.
The side profile looks rugged with squared-off wheel arches with black cladding and 20-inch black alloy wheels. At the back, the SUV gets wraparound LED taillamps connected with a black panel with Pajero lettering in the centre and a hefty bumper.
Dimensionally, the new Pajero measures 4,920mm in length, 1,925mm in width and 1,910mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,870mm.
