JABALPUR: A woman was murdered allegedly by her live in partner and her mentally challenged 14-year-old daughter was raped in Dindori district. The matter came to light on Thursday morning when police broke into a residence after locals informed SDOP Ajay Tiwari that a man has killed a woman living with him.According to police investigations, the deceased had been residing in the quarters with her mentally challenged minor daughter and the accused, for the past four months.The survivor revealed to authorities that the violence began on Tuesday her mother’s live in partner’s brother attacked her mom with a sharp weapon, causing a head injury. While her mother’s live in partner initially provided medical her, he reportedly turned violent and beat her to death when she insisted on filing a police complaint against his brother for the assault.Following the murder, the accused allegedly threatened and sexually assaulted the minor girl. Both brothers then locked the house from the outside, leaving the girl trapped with her mother’s body, and went absconding.SP Vahini Singh confirmed that the woman succumbed to injuries sustained during the physical assault by the siblings. The minor victim has been admitted to a hospital, where her condition is said to be improving. Police have registered a murder case, completed the Panchnama proceedings, and sent the body for post-mortem. Multiple police teams are currently conducting raids at various locations to apprehend the fleeing accused.
