Secretary of State Marco Rubio is meeting with Pope Leo XIV in the Apostolic Palace at the Vatican and the State Department says the conversations will include the situation in the Middle East and mutual interests in the Western Hemisphere. It comes after a series of tense exchanges between President Donald Trump and the pontiff over the Iran war. NBC’s Keir Simmons reports for TODAY.
