Maruti Suzuki India recorded total sales of 242,688 units in May 2026 compared to 180,777 units in the same month previous year. It’s the highest-ever monthly sales volume registered by the Indo-Japanese automaker.
In the domestic market, the company sold a record 193,535 units. It also supplied 7,239 units to other OEMs and exported 41,914 units during the month. Maruti Suzuki’s domestic sales, including LCV (light commercial vehicles), rose to 193,535 units in May 2026 from 138,690 units in the same month last year.
In the passenger vehicle (PV) segment, the compact and midsize models such as WagonR, Swift, Baleno and Dzire contributed 81,555 units, compared to 61,960 units in the corresponding month previous year. The utility vehicle (UV) segment, including the Fronx, Brezza, Grand Vitara and Ertiga, accounted total sales of 79,267 units up from 54,899 units in May 2025.
Maruti Suzuki also retailed 13,240 units of the Eeco van and 3,198 units of the Super Carry light commercial vehicle. Supplies to other OEMs declined 7,239 units from 10,168 units in May 2025. However, exports increased to 41,914 units against 31,219 units a year earlier.
During the April and May 2026 period, the Indo-Japanese automaker registered cumulative sales of 482,334 units opposed to 359,868 units during the corresponding period of 2025.
Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars in 2026
Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch its first flex-fuel car on June 5, 2026. It could be either the Maruti WagonR flex fuel or the Maruti Fronx flex fuel. Both models have already made their India debut in the concept form.
Following the flex-fuel launch, Maruti Suzuki will introduce the Brezza and Baleno facelifts with subtle design changes and feature upgrades. Both models are expected to retain their engine options. The carmaker will also launch a new premium three-row SUV, which will be based on the Grand Vitara. The upcoming model will share platform, powertrains, components, features and several design elements with the 5-seater Grand Vitara.
