Midlife Updates For Brezza, Baleno & Fronx
In the coming months, Maruti Suzuki will introduce the updated Brezza subcompact SUV and Baleno hatchback. Both models, currently in their testing phase, are expected to receive minimal cosmetic changes and feature upgrades.
Reports suggest the 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift could be offered with a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, borrowed from the Fronx. This engine will be paired to a new 6-speed manual gearbox. The exiting 1.5L petrol and CNG powertrains will also continue to be offered. The CNG version is also expected to get an underbody CNG tank fitment as we have seen in the Victoris.
The new 2026 Maruti Baleno is likely to see minor design changes including a wider and new grille, revised bumpers, new headlamps and taillamps. Speculations suggest that the hatchback might also share the 1.0L turbo petrol engine with the Fronx compact crossover.
Besides these facelifts, Maruti Suzuki is also working on an in-house developed strong hybrid powertrain in 2027. The Maruti Fronx facelift could be the first model to feature this hybrid system, followed by a sub-4m MPV and the new-generation Baleno. The compact crossover will also receive an ADAS suite along with noticeable updates to both its interior and exterior.
