Maruti Suzuki India aims to expand its product portfolio with nine new launches over the next three years, seven of which will be SUVs. Meanwhile, the Indo-Japanese automaker is all set to introduce the Baleno facelift, which will be followed by a new three-row electric MPV. Codenamed YMC, the upcoming Maruti 7-seater electric MPV is expected to debut towards the end of 2026, with its market launch likely to take place in early 2027.

Expected Prices
While its debut and launch are still a few months away, the Maruti YMC three-row EV is expected to target wider audience with aggressive pricing. Its prices are likely to start around Rs 14 lakh for the entry-level variant, and go up to Rs 18 lakh for the top variant. It will also spawn a Toyota derivative at a later stage.
Battery Options & Range
According to reports, the upcoming Maruti electric family car will share its platform and powertrain with the eVitara. The Maruti eVitara is currently available with 49kWh and 61kWh battery pack options, offering a claimed range of up to 543km. However, the YMC’s driving range is expected to be slightly lower due to its larger size and taller body.
Design Highlights
Spy images reveal that the new Maruti 7-seater electric MPV will feature a tall and boxy stance with a distinctive rear quarter. Several design elements could be inspired by the eVitara such as the front bumper with air intakes and aero-optimized alloy wheels. It will come with the conventional pull-type door handles. The vertically stacked taillamps wrapped around the rear windscreen will look similar to the Maruti Ertiga.
Expected Features
The interior of the new Maruti electric family car remains a mystery for now. However, the MPV is expected to share resemblance with the eVitara. In terms of features, the YMC is likely to offer a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, auto dimming IRVM, premium audio system, front and rear parking sensors, multiple airbags, TPMS, hill hold control and more.
