JSW MG Motor is set to launch two new SUVs in the Indian market by this year’s Diwali season. The upcoming models are widely expected to be the plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) and electric vehicle (EV) based on the China-spec Wuling Starlight 560. While the carmaker has not officially confirmed their names, a fresh media reports claims that the upcoming MG plug-in hybrid SUV will be called the MG Hector Hawk. The PHEV is set to make its official debut on July 16, 2026.

MG Hector Hawk PHEV & EV Specifications
Plug-in Hybrid Powertrain
MG Motor is yet to reveal the official powertrain details of the upcoming plug-in hybrid and electric SUVs. However, since both models will be based on the Wuling Starlight 560, they are expected to share powertrains, platform and components with the donor SUV.
In China, the Starlight 560 PHEV is available with a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a 20.5kWh battery pack. Its combined output stands at 197bhp and 230Nm. The PHEV offers an electric-only range of 100km and a combined range of up to 1,100km.
Electric Powertrain
The MG Hector Hawk EV is expected to be equipped with a 56.7kWh battery pack and a single electric motor producing power worth 236bhp and 200Nm. It offers a claimed CLTC-certified range of 500km on a full charge.
The electric SUV accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 13 seconds and has an electronic speed limit of 160kmph. The EV can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes by using a DC fast charger. It also supports AC charging, taking nearly 9.2 hours for a full charge.
Features & Dimensions
The MG Hector Hawk is expected to be packed with several advanced features such as a massive 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital driver display, a 6-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, Level 2 ADAS, all LED lighting, and more. Dimensionally, the SUV measures 4,745mm in length, 1,850mm in width and up to 1,770mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,810mm.
