The new-gen Renault Duster has created significant buzz among buyers even before its market launch. During its official unveil, the French automaker also revealed its aggressive product strategy for the Indian market, which includes one new launch ever year. While the company remains tight-lipped about its future products, the upcoming lineup will include a 7-seater Duster (Renault Boreal) and a mini Duster (sub-4 metre SUV). Here’s a brief on these upcoming Renault SUVs.
Renault Duster 7-Seater
The Renault Duster 7-seater SUV made its global debut as the Boreal in July 2025. The unveiled model looks similar to the Europe-spec Dacia Duster, while the India-bound model is likely to share its design resemblance with the India-spec Duster. The Boreal features Renault’s new logo positioned between a newly-designed grille, LED headlamps, a massive black bumper, alloy wheels and roof rails. It also gets black cladding, LED taillamps and a smaller spoiler at the rear.

Globally, the Renault Boreal will be offered with multiple powertrain options including a flex-fuel option. However, the India-spec Renault Duster 7-seater will share its powertrains with its 5-seater counterpart. The latter is set to receive a 1.8L strong hybrid powertrain around the 2026 Diwali season, which will also be available on the 7-seater version.
Mini Renault Duster
The mini Renault Duster will be the second sub-4 metre SUV from the French automaker. However, it will feature a more rugged design language than the Kiger, sharing several design elements with the new Duster. Reports suggest that Renault’s new compact SUV might borrow the 1.0L turbo petrol engine from the Kiger, paired with manual and CVT gearbox options.
As of now, there is no official word on its launch timeline. However, the mini Renault Duster is expected to take a couple of years to arrive, with a possible launch window between 2027 or 2028. In the sub-4 metre SUV segment, it will take on the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO and several more products.
