With estimated price range of Rs 15 lakh – Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), the Syros EV will face challenge from the MG Windsor EV, Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. While official details are still under the wraps, here’re what spy images and media reports suggest about the upcoming product.

Kia Syros EV

Design Highlights

The signature boxy silhouette and upright stance will remain intact. Similar to its ICE counterpart, the EV will feature vertically stacked LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, LED taillamps, front bumper with an integrated ADAS radar sensor.

Spy images also reveal the 17-inch alloy wheels with neon green brake calipers, similar to the units seen on the Seltos. However, the front bumper and grille could differ from the ICE-powered Syros.

Expected Features

The cabin layout is likely to remain largely unchanged. The Syros EV could be offered with V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) functionalities, while most features will be carried forward from its ICE counterpart. This means, the feature list will include a dual screen setup, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear seats, a wireless phone charger, multiple airbags and more.

Sharing Powertrain With Inster EV

Media reports suggest that the Kia Syros EV could borrow the K1 platform and powertrain from the Hyundai Inster EV, which is on sale in select global markets. The EV will be offered only with the FWD (front-wheel drive) system. The Hyundai Inster EV is available with two battery pack options – 42kWH and 49kWh, offering a maximum claimed range of 369km on a single charge.
