Motorola Edge (2026) for US and Canada unveiled with smaller 6.3″ display

We’ve been waiting for this one, but what we got is not what we expected – the Motorola Edge (2026) is a smaller phone with a 6.3” OLED display. Motorola US tends to do its own thing when it comes to the Edge series and the previous entries – Edge (2024) and Edge (2025) – had 6.6” and 6.7” displays, respectively. If anything, the trend was for screens to go bigger.

The Edge 60 Neo was available in Europe last year, but it never reached the US – like we said, Moto US does its own thing. But now there is a new player in the small mid-range segment – the Motorola Edge (2026) will be available from Motorola.com and Best Buy next week (June 11) at $600 unlocked. On the same date, AT&T, Cricket Wireless, Spectrum Wireless and Xfinity Mobile will launch their own offers. The phone is headed to Canada too – on June 11 Motorola.ca will sell unlocked units, while local carriers will join in later.

Back to the specs – the phone has a 6.3” “Extreme OLED” panel with 1.5K resolution. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and will reach an impressive 5,200 nits of peak brightness.

The Motorola Edge (2026) is fairly compact with a 6.3” display

What’s less impressive is the compute power on tap – the phone has a Dimensity 7450, which is a mild upgrade over the 7400 featured in the Edge (2025). If you can get excited over a 7% boost in AI performance, now is your chance. The phone comes with only 8GB of RAM (LPDDR5X) and worse, only 128GB storage (half of what the 2025 model had).

Motorola is promising three Android OS updates with this phone – that’s good by Moto standards – and touts Smart Connect. This is Motorola’s file and app syncing utility, you can read more about it here.

The Motorola Edge (2026) features the Dimensity 7450 and a 5,000mAh battery

The phone is equipped with two 50MP cameras on the back – a Lytia 710 (1/1.56”) sensor in the main with 4K video recording and an OIS lens. There is also a 50MP ultra-wide with 122° field of view and Macro Vision mode. The third 50MP camera on board is the selfie module on the front.

No, Motorola didn’t forget the telephoto camera – there is a 3x lens with OIS and only a 10MP sensor behind it, just like last year. This would have been a good opportunity to offer an upgrade over last year’s model.

The battery has 5,000mAh capacity and supports 60W TurboPower wired plus 15W TurboPower wireless charging. The wired option promises an all-day charge in just 7 minutes, while the wireless option can achieve the same in 34 minutes. At first this may seem like a downgrade from the 5,200mAh battery on the Edge (2025), but remember the size difference – last year’s model had a 6.7” screen.

The Motorola Edge (2026) has Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front and is rated IP68 (submersion) and IP69 (water jets). Motorola also claims that this model has double the drop and scratch resistance of its predecessor.

The phone features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. However, if you prefer to use TWS buds, Motorola just unveiled the Moto Buds 2.

These have a dual-driver design with 11mm dynamic and 6mm micro planar drivers. They are Hi-Res Audio certified and support Dolby Atmos spatial sound. They support Dual Connection over Bluetooth 6.0 too, so they can pair with a phone and a laptop simultaneously, for example. There is a low-latency Gaming Mode too.

The buds offer impressive 55dB dynamic active noise cancellation, while the previous generation had 50dB of ANC. The buds can last 11 hours of continuous play time and up to 48 hours with the charging case. They support quick charging too and 10 minutes of charging equate to 3 hours of playback.

The Moto Buds 2 will be available in the US in Pantone Carbon a month from now (July 2) at a price of $100.
