Motorola (and parent company Lenovo) announced Qira, their shared personal AI assistant, at CES. While Qira has been available on some Lenovo devices for a while, it’s only now finally starting to make its way to more Motorola smartphones, following its initial introduction on the Edge 70 Max.
It will be arriving on more handsets with the Android 17 update, the company has confirmed today. Qira will only be rolling out to phones in the Signature, Razr, and Edge series.
Motorola bills Qira as a “single AI experience that spans across Motorola and Lenovo products”. It can assist you with “a variety of tasks”, “enhance content for both work and play across devices”, and of course you can chat with it too. You can interact with it by using voice or text, and you can also send it photos and videos.
Qira can transcribe and summarize conversations, surface suggestions, set reminders, create images, stickers, and avatars, and even create wallpapers from a photo of a pattern, for example. Qira can also summarize notifications, and complete tasks on your behalf. And all of this works across Lenovo and Motorola devices, with relevant context not being lost when you switch between them.
