Motorola today launched the Moto G Max in India, and it’s different from the one introduced in June in Brazil.
For starters, the Brazilian Moto G Max, which is a rebranded Moto G87, is powered by the Dimensity 6400 SoC, while the Indian Moto G Max has the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip at the helm. The memory options are different, too: the Brazilian model comes with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, but the Indian model comes in a single 6GB/128GB configuration. Both models run Android 16 out of the box, with the Indian version confirmed to get two Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates.
The Indian Moto G Max’s display – protected by Gorilla Glass 7i – measures 6.72″ diagonally, which is smaller than its Brazilian counterpart. It’s also an LCD with a 2,400×1,080-pixel resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1,050 nits brightness (HBM).
That’s not it; the dual-camera setup on the rear is also different. The Indian Moto G Max features a 50MP (LYTIA 600) primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera with an FOV of 119.5°, unlike the Brazilian version, which sports a 200MP primary camera and an 8MP 118° FOV ultrawide camera. The selfie cameras on both versions use a 32MP sensor.
Fueling the Indian Moto G Max is a 7,000 mAh battery, which is 1,800 mAh larger than the one in the Brazilian Moto G Max. The Moto G Max ships with a 33W power adapter in India but supports 30W charging, like the Brazilian model.
The rest of the Indian Moto G Max’s highlights include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an IP64 rating, MIL-STD-810H certification, stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone’s display also supports water touch, meaning it can be operated even with wet fingers.
That said, the Indian Moto G Max doesn’t have NFC, but it has FM Radio. It also comes with Bluetooth 5.1 instead of Bluetooth 5.4.
Motorola Moto G Max Indian model’s color options
The Motorola Moto G Max is offered in three colors in India – Pantone Stargazer, Pantone Alaskan Blue, and Pantone Malaga. All are priced at INR27,999 and will go on sale in India starting August 20 through Motorola’s Indian website, Flipkart, and leading retail stores across the country.
