Motorola has shared a first look at its upcoming Signature 27 flagship phone during Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit keynote. The handset is among the first smartphones to feature the newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.
Although it is only the second phone in Motorola’s Signature series, the upcoming flagship introduces a new naming convention based on the last two digits of the year it is set to launch, hence the Signature 27.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset in the Motorola Signature 27 is paired with an ArcticMesh cooling system featuring a vapor chamber that is 40 percent larger than the one used in the previous generation.
For photography, the handset features a 50MP Sony LYT 910 primary rear sensor with support for 3.5 degree OIS. It is also equipped with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, although Motorola has yet to reveal details about the remaining cameras.
Motorola recently announced a long-term partnership with Bang & Olufsen, and the Signature 27 is the first product from the collaboration to feature Audio by B&O.
The Motorola Signature 27 will be available in Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Olive colorways, with both variants featuring a unique textured finish on the rear panel.
Motorola has also promised seven years of OS updates for the Signature 27.
The phone will be available globally later this year, with the exact launch date, complete specifications, and pricing set to be revealed soon.
