Nepal devotees join Ram Navami festivities in Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi: The Ram Navami festival concluded with religious fervour and enthusiasm across Sitamarhi district on Friday: The main celebrations were held at the Janki Temple and Punaura Dham. Temples were beautifully decorated with flowers and lights, creating a festive atmosphere.The occasion was marked by religious discourses, chanting of Vedic hymns and various rituals. The Sri Ram Janmotsav Shobha Yatra was taken out through the town on Friday, drawing large crowds of devotees.The district administration made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the festivities. Adequate security measures were put in place under the supervision of DM Richie Pandey and SP Amit Ranjan.A large number of devotees offered prayers over the two days, including pilgrims from neighbouring Nepal. Special bus services operated between Sitamarhi and Janakpur Dham in Nepal, as many devotees travelled there to pay obeisance to Lord Ram, whose in-laws’ kingdom is believed to have been in Janakpur during the Treta Yuga.The Nau Lakha Ram-Janaki Temple at Janakpur Dham emerged as a major attraction, adorned with grand decorations for the occasion. The festival witnessed a strong turnout on both sides of the border, reflecting the deep cultural and religious ties associated with Ram Navami celebrations.
