The Mahindra XUV 7XO has achieved a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash tests, scoring 30.76 points out of 32 and 44.97 points out of 49 in adult and child occupant protection tests, respectively. The rating is applicable to all variants; however, Bharat NCAP tested the AX7 diesel automatic FWD and AWD 7-seater variants of the SUV.

Mahindra XUV 7XO BNCAP Adult Occupant Protection Results
In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the XUV 7XO offered ‘Good’ protection to the driver’s head, neck, pelvis, thighs and feet. The chest and tibia, however, received ‘Adequate’ protection. All the critical parts of the co-driver, expect the co-driver’s tibiae, received ‘Good’ protection.
In the side-movable deformable barrier test, the SUV offered ‘Good’ protection to all critical parts of the passenger, including head, chest, abdomen and pelvis. However, in the side pole impact test, it provided ‘OK’ protection.
Mahindra XUV 7XO BNCAP Child Occupant Protection Results
The 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies were positioned in a rearward direction during the child occupant protection tests. In the frontal crash test, the XUV 7XO scored 7.97 points out of 8 and a full 8 points out of 8 on protection for the 18-month-old and 3-year-old, respectively. Both the 18-month-old and the 3-year-old dummies received a full 4 out of 4 points in the side crash tests.
In the dynamic child protection assessment, the XUV 7XO scored 23.97 points out of 24 points, while it received a full 12 points out of 12 in the CRS (Child Restraint System) installation assessment. The overall vehicle assessment score stood at 44.97 points.
Mahindra XUV 7XO Safety Features
The XUV 7XO comes equipped with six airbags, traction control, hill hold and hill descent assists, a 360-degree camera, Isofix child seat anchorages, a tyre pressure monitoring system and Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).
The Mahindra XUV 7XO is currently priced at Rs 13.99 lakh – Rs 25.79 lakh (ex-showroom). It takes directly on the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar.
