While the official hybrid powertrain details are yet to be revealed, reports suggest that both SUVs could be offered with an electrified version of the proven 1.5L petrol engine. The new Hyundai Creta hybrid and Kia Seltos hybrid will be positioned against the Maruti Grand Vitara, Maruti Victoris, Toyota Hyryder and the Renault Duster hybrid.

For reference, the Maruti Grand Vitara, Victoris and Toyota’s Hyryder are currently available with a 1.5L petrol strong hybrid powertrain. This setup delivers a combined power output of 116PS and 141Nm of torque. The Renault Duster hybrid, which is due for the 2026 Diwali season, will feature a 1.8L petrol hybrid powertrain, delivering a maximum power of 160PS and 172Nm of torque.

New 2027 Hyundai Creta – What To Expect?

The 2027 Hyundai Creta is coming with significantly improved styling, new platform, a more upmarket interior, and as mentioned above, a new hybrid powertrain. Furthermore, the SUV will grow dimensionally, offering a more generous cabin space. One of the major upgrades will come in the form of Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect infotainment system, which will support Gleo AI and a modular app.

Pervious spy images suggest that the new Hyundai Creta 2027 will receive a Boos mode for rear seat occupants, dedicated rear bents and adjustable headrest for all three rear passengers. Features such as black leatherette upholstery and Level 2 ADAS will be reserved for the higher trims.

Similar to the new Kia Seltos, the next-gen Creta will be designed on the advanced K3 architecture, which is likely to enhance safety quotient, ride quality and handling.
