Amid increasing competition, Hyundai Motor India has announced its product offensive plan for the next five years, which includes 26 new models (20 ICE vehicles and 6 EVs). The upcoming lineup will be a mix of new-generation models, facelifts and all-new products. The South Korean automaker is also ready to foray the hybrid vehicle segment with three new SUVs (as we know so far) – the new-gen Hyundai Creta, Hyundai iN1i and Hyundai Palisade. Upcoming Hyundai Hybrid SUVs

Next-Gen Hyundai Creta

The new-generation Hyundai Creta is currently in its initial testing phase, and set to hit Indian roads in 2027. Spy images reveal that the SUV will grow in size and carry a boxier and more angular stance. It will be built on a new K3 platform, and is expected to feature all-new design language.

Most interior upgrades are expected to be similar to the new Kia Seltos. Mechanically, the new Creta will receive a new strong hybrid powertrain, while retaining the existing engine options. Hyundai is expected to electrify its 1.5L petrol engine for its upcoming hybrid SUVs.

Hyundai Ni1i

The South Korean automaker is also working on an all-new three-row SUV, which is expected to arrive in 2027. Codenamed Hyundai Ni1i, the SUV will sit above the Alcazar and below Tucson in the company’s product lineup.

When launched, it will compete with the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari and the upcoming 7-seater SUVs from Toyota, Maruti and Renault. Reports suggest the new Hyundai 7-seater SUV could be based on the China-spec Tucson LWB. It’s expected to share the hybrid powertrain with the all-new Creta.

Hyundai Palisade

Hyundai’s global flagship SUV, the Palisade, will make its way to India in 2028. Interestingly, it will also be the brand’s first global model to feature a new 2.5L turbo hybrid powertrain, which will improve its power by 19 percent, torque by 9 percent and fuel efficiency by 45 percent.

While the globally available Palisade uses a 3.5L V6 petrol engine, the India-spec version is expected to come exclusively with a hybrid powertrain. The SUV will offer multiple drive and terrain modes.
