New Hyundai MPV & Off-Road SUV India Launch & Key Details

Hyundai has confirmed plans to introduce 26 new products in the Indian market by 2030, including 7 all-new nameplates. With this upcoming lineup, the South Korean automaker will also enter two entirely new segments – MPV and off-road SUV. While the company has remained tight lipped about specific product details, here’re what we can expect from the upcoming Hyundai MPV and off-road SUV.

Upcoming Hyundai MPV

2025 Hyundai Stargazer launch

Hyundai’s new family-oriented MPV is expected to come as a potential rival of the Kia Carens and Maruti Ertiga, with an estimate price tag of under Rs 20 lakh. Reports suggest that it could be based on the Hyundai Stargazer, which is already on sale in global markets. The Stargazer derives power from a 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol engine, featuring 16-valve DOHC setup. This motor pushes out a maximum power of 115PS and 144Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and an iVT.

Measuring 4.4m in length, the Hyundai Stargazer comes equipped with features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, multiple USB ports, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, rear AC vents, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera, electronic stability control, TPMS and more.

Upcoming Hyundai Off-Road SUV

Hyundai has also confirmed that its upcoming SUV will possess serious off-road capabilities along with a muscular design language. Although the carmaker doesn’t offer a true 4X4, ladder-frame SUV even its global lineup, the model is expected to be an all-new monocoque platform with an AWD drivetrain system.

Speculations suggest that Hyundai might base this SUV on a long-wheelbase version of either the China-spec Tucson AWD or Europe-spec Santa Fe AWD. The Hyundai Tucson AWD is available with a 1.6L turbo GDi petrol engine that’s good enough for 130PS and 265Nm, while the Santa Fe AWD comes with a 1.6L turbo petrol hybrid powertrain generating power worth 253PS and 367Nm. Both SUVs offer multi-terrain and drive modes, and are underpinned by Hyundai’s N3 architecture.
