Official bookings for the upcoming Hyundai Bayon midsize SUV have commenced nationwide. Interested buyers can pre-book the vehicle by paying a sum of Rs 11,000. The Bayon will make its debut on October 12 with its market launch in the following weeks. When launched, it will be sold alongside the Creta and compete with the Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
Design Highlights
The official teasers and spy images have revealed several design details of the upcoming Hyundai midsize SUV. It carries a crossover-ish stance with a split headlamp setup, half-split H-shaped LED DRLs and sharp creases. The side profile appears to be inspired by the Exter with elements such as functional roof rails, pronounced wheel arches and conventional pull-type door handles. At the back, the Bayon features a prominent roof spoiler, slim LED light strip and LED signature.
Interior & Features
Inside the cabin, the Hyundai Bayon will share several features with the next-gen i20, which recently made debut in Brazil. It will offer a dual screen setup, a steering wheel with Hyundai’s four-dot motif, centre console with physical HVAC controls, vertical AC vents and i20-inspired door pads.
Engine & Gearbox Options
According to reports, the Hyundai Bayon is expected to be offered with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, borrowed from the Creta. The SUV will also be available with a factory-fitted CNG powertrain, featuring an underbody tank. Transmission choices will include a manual and a CVT automatic.
Expected Pricing
The new Bayon SUV is likely to be priced aggressively, with the base variant expected to coast around Rs 8-9 lakh and the top-end variant likely to be priced at nearly Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom).
