New Kia Seltos Waiting Period Revealed – Diesel Vs Petrol


The next-generation Kia Seltos went on sale in January, 2026. While bookings commenced on 11th December last year, deliveries began in mid-January. Within the first month of its arrival, the carmaker dispatched 10,639 units in the midsize SUV, taking its cumulative sales past the 6 lakh mark. The new Kia Seltos diesel is currently witnessing higher demand than the turbo-petrol and naturally aspirated petrol engine variants.

Waiting Period Explained

According to a fresh report, the Seltos diesel currently has a waiting period of up to 8 weeks, while the petrol variants (both turbo and NA) are observing a waiting period of 4-5 weeks. However, it’s important to note that the waiting periods may vary depending on the transmission, colour and city.

The report further states that the Imperial Blue, Pweter Olive and Magma Red colours are among the most preferred choices, commanding a wating period of up to 8 weeks. Buyers opting for Aurora Black Pearl and Glacier White Pearl shades can expect a waiting period of up to 6 weeks.

Engine Options

The new Kia Seltos is available with the same three engines – a 115bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, a 116bhp, 1.5L diesel, and a 160bhp, 1.5L turbo-petrol. The NA petrol comes with two transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic, while the turbo-petrol engine is offered with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Meanwhile, the diesel can be had either with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.

Price & Competition

Prices of the new Seltos starts at Rs 10.99 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Unlike its predecessor, the new model lineup gets X-Line as a cosmetic package. In the midsize SUV segment, the SUV competes with the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Maruti Grand Vitara and Victoris, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Honda Elevate.
