The upcoming new Maruti midsize SUV has already created significant hype among buyers ahead of its official launch on September 3, 2025. The model’s official name is yet to be announced; however, it’s widely referred as the ‘Maruti Escudo’. It will be the new flagship SUV for the Arena dealership network, and will be introduced as an alternative to the Maruti Grand Vitara, which is sold through the premium Nexa outlets. The new Maruti SUV will sit between the Brezza and Grand Vitara in the company’s product lineup, and its pricing is likely to overlap with both its siblings.

Official engine specifications, features and design details of the Maurti Escudo will be revealed at its launch event. However, since the model has been spotted numerous times, we have already gathered some interesting details. Let’s take a look at what we can expected from this new Maruti SUV.
– Level-2 ADAS: The Major highlight of the Escudo will be the Level-2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite, which a first for any Maruti Suzuki car in India, enhancing its safety quotient. For reference, its arch rival – the Hyundai Creta also offers Level-2 ADAS as part of the Hyundai SmartSence suite.
– Dolby Atmos Audio: The new Maruti midsize SUV will also be the brand’s first model to feature Dolby Atmos audio technology, while the Creta comes with a Bose premium sound system. Other models equipped with Dolby Atmos include Mahindra’s new BE 6 and XEV 9e born electric SUVs and the newly-launched Tata Harrier EV.
– Powered Tailgate: The Maruti Escudo will offer a powered tailgate, a feature missing in the Hyundai Creta. However, the Creta N Line variant does offer an electric power tailgate.
– 4WD System: Another segment-first advantage will be a 4WD (four-wheel drive) system, which is not available in the Hyundai Creta.
