New Nissan MPV Coming On 18th Dec – India’s Next Budget Family Car?

An all-new three-row family car is on its way. Nissan India has confirmed that its new MPV will make official debut on December 18, 2025. It will be the third addition to Nissan’s product portfolio in India. While official details of the upcoming Nissan MPV will be revealed in the coming days, it’s expected to be based on the Renault Triber sharing platform, powertrain and features. However, its overall design language will be completely different from the donor model.

Design Details

The teaser reveals that the new Nissan MPV will have a silhouette and stance similar to the Triber. Its front fascia will be entirely new, featuring a larger grille with hexagonal inserts, redesigned headlamps and revised bumper with C-shaped accents. The family car is also likely to come with newly-designed alloy wheels, functional roof rails, and differently designed taillamps and rear bumper.

Interior & Features

Based on the CMF-A platform, Nissan’s 7-seater car is expected to offer a cabin layout and features similar to the Renault Triber. The feature list might include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (reserved for higher trims), a cooled lower glove box, driver’s seat height adjust and driver’s seat armrest, auto-fold ORVMs, cruise control, rear seat lighting, and more.

Engine Options

Under the hood, the new Nissan MPV is expected to use the Triber’s 1.0L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, pushing out power worth 72bhp and 96Nm of torque. However, Nissan might tune the engine for better performance. Transmission choices are likely to include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.

Expected Pricing

The new Nissan 7-seater MPV could be priced close to the Renault Triber, which is currently available within the price range of Rs 5.76 lakh – Rs 8.6 lakh (ex-showroom). If launched at a similar price point, it will be one of the most affordable family cars in India.
