Rumors about Apple’s all-glass iPhone for the device’s 20th anniversary have been circulating for months. However, a recent report claimed that the redesigned model had been cancelled. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has now disputed that claim, saying the device remains on track.
Citing people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is still planning to introduce a glass-centric iPhone design to mark the device’s 20th anniversary next year.
According to Gurman, the 2027 Pro models, rumored to be called the iPhone 20 Pro and iPhone 20 Pro Max, will feature a glass-heavy design with curved glass on both the front and back, joined by a slim metal frame.
Gurman adds that the two devices are internally codenamed V73 and V74. He also notes that Apple had explored an even more glass-focused design, but ultimately shelved the concept due to the challenges involved in manufacturing it at scale.
The iPhone 20 Pro and iPhone 20 Pro Max are also rumored to offer slightly larger displays, improved cooling, and a design as thin as the iPhone Air.
