Tata Motors is set to introduce the Tata Aeris compact sedan in India on September 25, 2026. The Aeries is essentially a rebranded version of the Tigor facelift and is expected to arrive with minimal design changes and feature enhancements. Ahead of its launch, the carmaker has released a teaser revealing the revised front fascia.
Design Highlights
The Tata Aeris features slim LED headlamps with a thin DRL strip running above them and LED fog lamps. The sedan also features conventional pull-type door handles, newly-designed alloy wheels and redesigned taillamps along with a new purple exterior colour option. Tata Motors will make changes to the sheet metal as well. Similar design changes are expected for the Tata Aeris EV.
Interior & Features
The interior of the Aeris sedan (new Tata Tiago facelift) is likely to feature a redesigned dashboard, a freestanding touchscreen and several other new features. It will continue to come with the wireless charging pad, connected car tech, blind spot monitor, a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, keyless entry, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, traction control, hill hold control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and more.
Engine & Gearbox Options
Under the hood, the Tata Aeris is likely to feature the existing 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol and petrol-CNG powertrain options. The petrol engine delivers a claimed power of 86bhp and 113Nm of toque, while the CNG version offers 75.5bhp and 96.5Nm. Transmission choices are expected to include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Battery & Range
The Tata Aeris EV is expected to come with 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery pack options. These are likely to deliver claimed MIDC range of 285km and 223km, respectively.
